So, Let Me Show You

CWhat I Know

I can't download my brain into yours. But I can get you close. Let me show you what I know.

That’s not a tagline. It’s just what I do.  I consider my duty to be an ally, an expert in your corner who actually speaks the language.

My career started in a little town called Atascadero, California. I was still in high school, working through a Summer Jobs for Youth program, when the local police department hand-picked me to revamp their investigations files. No computers, no digital systems. Just old-school filing cabinets stuffed with case files, crammed into the tiniest space you can imagine.

I spent my days reading about the realities of the legal system that most people never see. It opened my eyes. Not to becoming a cop—that much I knew immediately. But it made me realize the system was broken. Pieces that didn't connect. Departments that couldn't communicate. Information that got lost because nobody was bridging the gaps.

And in a way, every job I took after that kept pulling me toward the same thing: being the connector. The person who helps each piece of the engine understand how to work with the others.

Along the way, I did stints in tobacco prevention education—securing grants, running programs across military bases and schools, and teaching cessation smoking classes among every audience you can imagine: preschoolers, hospital patients and VX9 at China Lake. Those years taught me how to take a complex issue and make it make sense to a room full of people.

Then came the courts. I spent 16 years as a California Court clerk— Five Days a Week in the Courtroom; the room where so many moving parts of the whole come together.  I have sat through tens of thousands of cases documenting and observing Attorneys, litigants, law enforement, court personnel, and spectators.

It still sticker shocks me of the enormity of how it changed me to be a Court Clerk. I often thought how an attorney might carry 100–200 cases a year and appear in court for maybe a third of them. But I was expected to handle an average of 120 cases a month on the calendar. Every single one, I had to review the file, understand the procedural posture, and summarize it for the judge before court even started. On any given week, there'd be 30 cases on calendar that I had to know inside and out. An attorney would walk in with five.

That kind of volume changes how you see the system. Patterns emerge. You start to understand not just how the law works, but how it actually moves through a courtroom—the rhythm, the gotchas, and the unwritten rules.

And here’s what that taught me: most people are perfectly capable of handling their own legal matters. Because the one thing a file can never capture is what you know off the top of your head. You are the expert on your own case. You just need someone who speaks the language and can show you the patterns.

So that’s what I do now. Paralegal and Trial Tech Services sits right in the gap between full attorney representation and going it alone. You get my experience, my research, and my prep work—all supervised by an attorney.

You don't need me to fight your battles. You need me to give you the tools to handle yours with confidence.

So, let me show you what I know.
